If you are interested in the kind of thinking necessary for the future I recommend the Dan Pink book "A whole new mind - why right brainers will rule the future". It's a good read and will show some of the benefits of right brain thinking and how to develop it.
Also Edward De Bono has a lot of books on Lateral Thinking and thinking processes in general; Lateral Thinking and Six Thinking Hats are two good ones.
